How Rachel’s Place collects, uses and protects your family’s personal information.
Last updated: January 2026
Who we are
Rachel’s Place Children’s Centre (ABN 38 611 852 450), 111 Vulture Street, West End, Brisbane QLD 4101. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Enquiry details submitted through this website: your name, email, phone number, your child’s name and age, preferred days, and your message.
- Enrolment information required by law: family contact details, authorised collectors, court orders where relevant, immunisation records, medical and dietary needs, and your Centrelink CRN for Child Care Subsidy purposes.
- Learning documentation: observations, learning stories, and photographs of your child, used with your consent.
- Employment applications: contact details, qualifications, and the information you choose to send us.
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry; to enrol and care for your child safely; to meet our obligations under the Education and Care Services National Law, National Regulations and the Child Care Subsidy system; to bill your account; and to communicate with you about your child and the centre.
How we use photographs
Photographs and video are used for learning documentation, your child’s learning e-book, and displays inside the centre. We only use images on our website or social media with specific written consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Who we share information with
Only where necessary: with Services Australia for Child Care Subsidy; with the Queensland Department of Education for kindergarten funding and regulatory purposes; with our childcare management software provider; with emergency services or medical professionals in an emergency; and where required or authorised by law, including child protection reporting obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party marketing.
Storage and security
Records are held in secure electronic systems with access limited to those who need it, and in locked physical storage where paper records are required. Enrolment records are retained for the periods set out in the National Regulations — in some cases until a child turns 25.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and does not store personal information in your browser. Fonts are loaded from Fontshare and Google Fonts, and the contact page includes a Google Maps embed, so those providers may log standard request information such as your IP address.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and your child, and ask us to correct it. Email [email protected] or speak with Rachel. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your information, please tell Rachel first — most things are fixed quickly. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
